LOMITA VILLAGE 70

LVR ~ LV13 ~ LV70

LOMITA VILLAGE 13

A.k.a. Lomita Varrio 70

LOMITA VILLAGE

LVR ~ Lomita Village Rifa.. The “R” is not used regularly in order to avoid confusion with Linda Vista Rifa

LV13 ~ Lomita Village 13.. The “Varrio” started out in the late 1950s, hence the “13”

LV70 ~ Lomita Village 70.. Sometimes referred to as Lomita Varrio Setentas

LV gets its name straight off from the community in the far East Side of San Diego, located..

N) Jamacha Road
S) Skyline Drive
W) Meadowbrook Drive
E) Billow Drive

The heart of the Varrio is Lomita Park

Lomita Village presently claims “SOUTH EAST” because the neighborhood is located in the southeastern part of San Diego’s greater east side.

Original veteranos cliques from the L V

BASTONES ~ 1950s-1960s
DUBONETTS ~ 1950s-1960s
JURYMEN ~ 1960s

The Jurymen were the last of the old clubs from Lomita.
All the original cliques each used to sport their clique name on their club jackets together with the neighborhood name.

LV13 put in mad work since the late 50s, and the two decades prior to the 7’Os. Contrary to popular belief, LV13 & LV70 are not synonymous. In fact, Setentas is a “clique” from LV13. The 7’Os were sparked up by some vatos from Comptone Varrio 70 who were from the Lomita neighborhood and mixed in. LV13 and LV70 at one time did not even get along that much, but in 1978 an LV13 homeboy wasted a jura, and that brought down the heat on the varrio. Things got real hot and homies were getting torcidos and sent up to do long sentences. Right around that year is when the 7’Os Chicos started putting in work together with the LV13 Diablos & LiL Spiders. As time went by, more and more LV13 homeboys were either getting smoked, locked up or going into retirement, and so the youngsters kinda forgot about the older gente, but the Chicos kept the Village on deck. Eventually the LV13 kinda took a back seat to the LV70, but don’t let that confuse you because there’s still plenty of LV’s that don’t claim 70s. There’s stil homies around that claim LV13 NOMAS! And just to re-iterate what has already been said, the LV oldie cliques never claimed LV70, PERIOD!

LV ~” SUNNYSIDE BLOCK “~ 13
BUSTER DANNY’BOY DOC PANCHO MUGS BUCK
BOYKINS SOLDIER FAT’RAT ARDILLA BIG’BEN

Mas LV cliques:

MIDGETS LV13
SPIDERS LV13
LIL’ SPIDERS LV13
DIABLOS LV13
CHICOS (7’Os)
JUNIORS (7’Os)
RASCALS LV70
DEMONIOS LV70
TRAVIESOS LV70
MALOS LV70

Nevertheless, it is all together the LOMITA VILLAGE hood
REPRESENTING from Donovan to Pelican Bay!

Lomita Village has siempre pleito with
Varrio Encanto to the west,
Lemon Grove to the north,
Paradise Lomas to the south,
and Spring Valley Locos to the east.

LV 13 now a days refers to Linda Vista 13, which by the way also tag the same way as Lomita Village. I dont know if Lomita Village is still around.

yo Lomita boys whats the 70's for?
and what gang is older Linda Vista
or Lomita?

why do lomita village 70s claim southeasxt if it was birth easxt side

Anonymous said...

its the eastside of southeast. not eastside san diego.
same with the bloods in skyline.
lomita gets the 70s from the street names. lomita village pretty much owns any street thats numerically in the 70s. same with vEncanto. they pretty much own the streets numericall in the 60s.

all a gang is, are a group of people who have each others backs, your homies, your doggs.. but dont under estimate it. you may think it's a small neighborhood, but the smaller they are the more fear they will put in you.. all it is, is protecting your own, keeping you and yours safe. its a family. you fuck with one, you fuck with all.. its your choice, and ya they are still around putting fear into the hearts of the enemy. always will. so its your choice, you can "TRY" to come and act all hard but believe me, you will crawl away like a dog with your tail between your legs. "wolf tickets" aint sold on this side of the "SOUTH EAST".. your choice..

Linda Vista Claims LV and Lomita usually goes with 70's (Seven O's)

What has usually been stated/claimed is "Lomita 70's" in the region. San Vicente Blvd. to Skyline is the stronghold. Usually dont see the 70's head down either hill (Whether it is towards Encanto (VELs) Spring Valley (VSVLs) or Paradise Hills (VPHls) Not that they are scared. Lomita has a reputation for holding their ground in conflicts that would test even the hardest Varrios. They just claim their hood and make it happen.

Good to know Creeper got the history half way right. The way Lomita started was through my uncle "Tarzan" who after visiting cousins in compton soon after his senior year at morse h.s. There in compton he became initiated. soon after coming back to san diego his group group of friends which used to hang out with guys that also lived in encanto and even set up soccer matches at lomita park. It wasn't until a little later that the division between both groups from different hoods started to happen mostly due to the fueds between younger members.
Now the dude that killed the cop was actually named "Chavo" not "Chato" I know this cause he was my step- dad for a lil over 10 years. While i am talking about him i wanna take time to thank him for showing me that life is so much better out of prison than inside. Unfortunately my uncle "Tarzan is now passed away but i think of him everyday. I'll never forget how this big tough looking uncle used to show his love to his whole family. Some o.g.'s from 70's will testify to what kind of man he was. He was a great diplomat in his own right by the way he ran his family, his hood and his friends. Last but not least i wanna say whats up to my boy "green eyed Ernie" his brother "pee wee" the Gonzalez's and the Zapata"s (Andrew & Joey) from san felipe street. I miss the neighborhood and the good times. For those who wonder who this is my names Israel used to live on knollwood the street at the bottom of the audubon stairs. I'm 31 and now live in sacramento with 2 kids my mom sister and brother are here too. The biggest reason i left was cause my ex step dad was tranfered to a different prison, but doing so helped me get off heavy dope. Nowadays i do my best to reach out to kids in trouble and on drugs. Although i now am also a big advocate for the proper use and legalization of marijuana. If any of you on here remeber me or wanna say whats up hit me up sometime. I wanna see how many kieller and morse homies ill hear from.

lomita village has been around as a neighborhood and a gang since the late 1950s the hood has been putting in work long before los setentas the 70s began and to set things straight 70s are a clicka from lomita not the whole neighborhood i am buster from lomita village13 i am 49 yrs old and as for tarzan and veto and all those fools who started up the clicka of los setentas i never recall them putting in much work for the hood tarzan got checked by paul marquez right from the start and veto if its who i think only put in a lil work with us when we were doing things at one time lomita and 70 didnt even get along much alot of fools who claim lomita 70 dont even know some of the main older homeboys who were running things before and as the 70 started there are alot of older homeboys in their 50s and even some in their 60s who only claimed lomita village there used to be older clickas back in the day like the bastones or the dubonetts or the last older clicka were the jurymen all those older fools are dead or gone or retired out of the madness back in the 1960s and 1970s when homeboys used to wear club jackets with their clicka and the hood on them yes its true homeboy killed a pig and the hood got hot for a while about that time when that happened or a bit before the 70 chicos kinda started or kept the 70 thing going and some of them fools and the diablos and even the lil spiders were putting in work with us but alot of soldiers who put in alot of work and established the respect and pride of the hood never claimed 70 from the streets of san diego to pelican bay lomita village stands strong and have homeboys who got married into the fellas the youngsters who are out there putting in work and are on deck riding for lomita or lomita 70 dont even know us older dogs cause some have been torcido for a long time or have gotten out and moved on in life yes the goal of most sureno gang members from any hood is to make it to the top and become a fella a carnal in the eme but not everybody is spending the rest of their life in prison or strung out on drugs there are alot of good homeboys from the hood who have succeeded in life and have familias and good jobs and own homes and there are homeboys who are a carnal you tell me what is sureno success once again my placiaso is buster i was born in lomita village and i am a true O G if anybody wants to get at me ill tell you the trueth about our hood cause i lived it since i was old enough to walk the streets of sunnyside and hang out with my brother buck and good homeboys like the castros doc dannyboy rip mugs and young boykins and good homeboys like big ben and pancho and ardilla and soldier and fatrat i could go on and on but let me leave you with this the 70s are from lomita but there is alot of lomita that arent 70s period

Anonymous said...

orale hometeam as for lomita ever claiming east side lomita i was born in 1960 and left living in the hood in 1988 so i know for sure that is not true unless after that 21yrs ago cause you see in every hood you have a bunch of different lil crews who do things different as time goes on and things happen differently inside the penetentary also every hood has their own shot callers and soldiers and different crews of soldiers most true riders from back in our days are all criminals who are torcido or dead or have adapted to society and live as citizens some still in the mix undercover the true sureno way of life is never tell whats really going on you feel me so what the youngsters of today dont know may stay better off unknown ph and encanto are as old as our hood or real close there are fools from san diego that were in their 50s when i was torcido back in 1982 so them fools are what in their late 70s or 80s san diego rides hard but trueth be told alot of fools at some certain time in life change and get out of the mix and there are other fools who will never change period me personally i like to see our raza succeed in life being a true carnal for the fellas is the true sureno hard core heritage way period but straight up any homeboy who succeeds in life and does good for him and his familia through hard work and stayimg out of trouble has to demand respect as well life is only what you make of it alrato

I heard that story about LVX3 too! But I think it is an urban myth. A homie from Big Hazard told me a similar story about two LA varrios. I think it is just a way for varrios to scare their rivals. but who knows....I've known of worse happening in regards to varrio warfare.

I am glad that someone "corrected" tha story about the "CHAVO" from the 70's. I could not believe that one guy listed him as chato. I was busted with Chavo as a youngster in CAMPO back in the mid 70's he was just claiming LOMITA then and everytime we seen the 70's placiasos he was impressed and would smile and talk about them. I knew he was going to be from the 70's and we spoke about it. One little known story is that Chavo saved a life before he (supposedly) took one and that life belonged to me. We were eating some fucked up meat sandwhich in the chow hall when I began choking and everyone thought I was joking around but Chavo was sitting right in front of me cause we used to be tight like that. He got up and did the hiemlich manuever on me and out popped the meat. I was about to go out from lack of oxygen and this young man maybe 15 years old at the time had the presence of mind to stay calm and do what needed to be done. I am here today because of him. I remember when he was busted for Archie Muggs-the placa that was shot. I felt like I needed to do something for him but was powerless so I prayed for him that he would find peace and relative happiness in his life. Because of Chavo I have been able to have a family, a business and a successful marriage things that I owe to him and will never forget. Each day I wake up I thank GOD and Chavo for another day.And for those of you that need to know I am from National City, the city they call nasty. Barrios don't matter much when you are busted and doing time. What does matter is your connection with a similar mind and spirit. Chavo is a good man with a good heart, I am proof. Fuck the carga they put on him MUCH RESPECT to the 70's from the CITY they call NASTY. Some of the others I have known and respected over the years, DOC from Lomita (torcido 1982), Junior Tovar from Lomita Village, Indio from Lomita. Not all of them may remember me but I remember them and they were true men with corazon and respect.Something missing in many people these days you youngsters would do well in speaking to some of the veteranos from the hood and hear stories of when barrios got along and had good times with each other. It wasn't always about fighting but about sharing good times with each other as well making friendships and meeting new people to broaden your influence and open your mind. We had football games against LOMITA and carne asadas, met thier hynas and they ours, we partied and backed them up whenever we needed to which wasn't much but we were there when they wanted us to be. But mainly we just had a good time and partied. The good old days, when girls were girls and boys were men.

PH has been getting at you for years. A main cat from PH lived on the corner of Encinitas and Skyline (across the street from the Tejedas) for a long time while the two hoods were warring hard. Right after that one girl got thrown from the back of the truck. None of the up and coming 70s ever stepped to him because that guys family was tight with the families of older Lomita gente. PH would bang in Lomita every weekend. I was a little kid, but I remember my mom complaining about them coming through all the time and how the 70s never did anything about it. (Not that she condoned banging, but the way she saw it, if you said that you were a soldier for the neighborhood, you should at least make an attempt to defend it at the very least.) No disrespect intended. I grew up in Lomita and loved growing up there, but the revisionist history does nothing but undermine the veracity of this site.

Some of this is pretty consistent with most of the hood's history I've heard from the older homies. My great uncles were from the jurymen, the Coriz family. Whoever said we get the "70" from a street name is high as fuck haha. DROOPYBOY-BOXER-OJOS-PUPPET-BLACKS-LILMAN LV70TRVS GANG FUCK RATS!

That's funny the guy From PH that lived on the corner on Encianitas And skyline was Lil Bullet that was Marissa's baby daddy they have to girls. I remember going to there house to party all the time with Angie that's CaveMan from 70s lil sister and Mariss. It's crazy to because they would be out side hanging out or in the back yard and 70s would drive yelling or play the Jo felony song bullet loco But would never do anything. J.P. had a Cadillac and 70s shot out his back window then they tryd to chase him down skyline and he put his car in revers and fuck there car all up I remember seeing there blue nissan on the side of there house all fucked up. Yeah I would say that he was crazy ass fuck. It was him Blanco, Deno, heoro and Cartoon.

Anonymous said...

Nah, not little bullet. Way way before him. its little bullets brother in laws (big bullet?) cousin. (I forget his name. guero, pato?) light skinned, spoke perfect proper grammer spanish, had a white truck. Right on the corner of skyline and Encinitas. Very corner. Across from Benny Tejedas'. Crazy dude. Finally 70 had enough and bum rushed a party there. It was a parents type party with old men and ladies. the dad said fuck that and came out and got em up with a couple of 70s. The funny thing is that he was like one of the church pastors at St. John's and their whole family was really close with the older homies families. Especially the Tejedas and Manny and his family.

You still kick it around the hood? I’m tryna get to know the varrio I live in. I’m just a youngster who wants to put my hood on top you feel me. Putting in work for the varrio ain’t somethin new to me though, I crossed out a PH tag in Lomita and I don’t even bang Lomita, I did it for the whole varrio itself. Me and my homies would punk on any gangbangers fuckin wit Lomita and that’s on mine. I just got mad respect for the hood I grew up in and if it’s funky I’m wit the action. Lomita Village is a small hood but we smash on bigger hoods no problem when they come to the block.

Homie claiming Lomita Village was around since the 50's. Naw dog. The neighborhood wasn't developed until the 1960's. It was all brush before then. And in the 1960's it was a decent neighborhood to live in.

East Side Lomita was a click of little black kids who lived near Brookhaven. They were imitating East Side Piru. Had nothing to do with LV.

Some vato up above said Cherries started in the 1920's. Logan Heights Cherries started in the 1940's not 20's. Then all the Logan clickas came after...Red Steps, 26th Street Lucky's Chicanos, Gallos, and so on. The first gang out of National City was "Thee Mutes." They also started in the 1940's. Further south was the Chula Vista Midnighters and Otay Yatos, also from the 1940s. No modern gang in SD goes back before the zoot suit days. LHTS and Otay have been around since the 1940's. Thee Mutes eventually became OTNC in the 50's. CV Midnighters merged with East Side CV in the early 70's and became VCV Cyclones.

You are mostly correct about VCV. It's complicated. THEE MIDNITERS started in the late 40's or early 50's in south Chula Vista in two neighborhoods. They were mostly in the Fruitdale neighborhood - Palomar to Main ST. and Industrial BLVD to Bay BLVD. They also had members in the Harborside neighborhood - L ST to Naples ST and Broadway to Industrial BLVD. Funny thing is at the time those neighborhoods were not part of the city of Chula Vista. They didn't become part of CV until the 1980's. They were a part of a community called Montgomery. The neighborhood of Otay was also part of that community. Otay 13 is the gang in that neighborhood and the main enemy of VCV. Thee Midnighters turned into South Chula Vista Midniters and the next generation after that just went by Varrio South Chula Vista (VSCV) or Just "South Chula Vista." Almost at the same time South Chula Vista kicked off, another hood called Varrio East Chula Vista (VECV) or just "East Chula Vista" started up in the Castle Park area. Both beefed with each other for a while until most decided to unite into Varrio Chula Vista and the first clicka, VCV Cyclones was born in the 1970's. Some members of VSCV in Fruitdale held out and claimed VSCV until it eventually dissolved inthe early 1980's but there were no hard feelings. The Cyclones clicka went inactive in the 1980's but OG's are still around. Now the are 4 clickas in VCV - Nutty Boys, G Street, Grande Locos, South Bay Locos.

Thank you. Tarzan was my Tata he brought it from Compton RIP

It’s very sad and hypocritical how much everyone claims they are down for their homies, how they help eachother out & how much they love the hood yet when Tarzan MAIN HEAD dies no one was by his side nor help our family. His homies left him to die & in fact they jacked him. He left 4 kids and a pregnant wife behind & where was the hood? Very Sad to know he’s the one who brought 70s to SD & now he’s just known as some vato? Wow! Moral of the story If he wasn’t involved in the life he would still be here with our family today 💔 so get out while you can or don’t get involved. Once you pass & leave this world, everyone forgets about you and/ or throws dirt on your name

At anonymous above me. It is sad. But what do you expect when almost all of the vatos in San Diego don't even know the history or origins of their own varrios. Knowing the history of your own hoods instills a sense of loyalty. It's not like LA. In LA people can trace the history of their varrio and teach it to the youngsters.. It seem like in SD people only really know half of the history and have to guess the rest.
