VARRIO SOUTH LOS

Thee renown VARRIO SOUTH LOS is in the heart of South Los Angeles, criss-crossed by the 105 & 110 freeways..
In fact, the varrio takes its name from the old unincorp area named South Los Angeles, which roughly goes from (W) Vermont Ave, (E) Central Ave, (N) 110Th St, (S) 120Th Street.

The varrio today is centered more around Imperial Hwy and Main Street, by the railroad tracks. Its eastern border today would probably be more like San Pedro Street, but no longer reaching Central Avenue.

SOxLOS is a very old varrio, and it has remained strong over the decades in the predominant Black south side of Los Angeles. Aside from its many strong cliques, it is said that they have sponsored other start up varrios.. varrios like BARRIO POBRE, CARNALES & CV 117. The BARRIO POBRE in Lynwood are the sponsors for Barrio Pobre in Compton, but the question remains as to who started first,
BP in Lynwood, or BP in Long Beach. (?) The BP in L.B. has been around since at least the 1970's, and they have traditionally been real crazy.

SOxLOS also has a very strong varrio in San Diego County, in the City of San Marcos, where they are enemies with San Marco's WOLF PACK & GHOST TOWN gangs.

In L.A. SOxLOS enemies are many, including their old rivalry with Florencia 13 & Watts Varrios.

SOxLOS cliques:
PISTOLEROS
BABY LOCOS
COMPAñEROS

Barrio Pobre before going to Long Beach, Compton or Lynwood started in the city of Carson.
My uncle is a OG from SoxLos and when going to the hood they ( Thee OG's ) would call it Barrio Pobre ( 111th & Vermont ). Original cliques Barrio Pobre, Carnales n Compañeros. The Baby Locos also came later following the Pistoleros... Rest in Peace Mr. Pobre R.I.P along with all the good soldiers that has passed. Gang activity in San Marcos is practically non-existent now a days. Used to live on Johnston ln and witnessed many a rumble between all the sokas and Wolfpack/VSM 13. They tore down a bunch of the old ass houses in richmar and all the ghetto ass apartments by chinaberry and autumn. Those were the days...

Does the Barrio Pobre in Chicago have an LA connection? If so, who sponsored them?
